The Naples Historical Society – A Fascinating Glimpse into the Past

The Naples Historical Society, located at 137 12th Avenue South in Naples, is Naples’ most unique historical experience and a must-visit for seasonal and full-time residents alike.

The Palm Cottage house museum is the centerpiece of the attraction, and is a true symbol of Naples history. Listed on the National register for Historic Places, the Palm Cottage was built in 1895 and gives an excellent glimpse into what Naples was so many years ago.

The Norris Gardens, which are outside of the Palm Cottage, chronicle Naples landscape history over the last 100 years. Featuring palms, edible plants, fragrant plants, exotic plants, grasses, and many more, the Norris Gardens are a wonderful retreat in Olde Naples.

The Naples Historical Society offers tours of the Palm Cottage, Norris Gardens, and Olde Naples on a regular basis. For more information and reservations, call 239-261-8164.
