The final phase of work is underway on the Interstate 75 widening project as crews have begun laying the final layer of asphalt.
The project is nearly a year ahead of schedule.
Drivers can expect smooth rides on the newly laid asphalt in the next couple days. The final portion of the project is expected to come to an end by the holidays.
